Is there a major internet outage today?

As of Oct 22, 2026, 12:35 UTC

No major internet outage, but some services have problems

There is no sign of a nationwide or global internet outage, but the services listed below report problems or have a burst of user reports.

  • Cloudflare: problems, "Partial System Outage"
  • AWS: problems, "2 open event(s) on the AWS Health Dashboard"

Status comes from each provider's official status page where it has one and from our own checks every few minutes. Internet providers and carriers publish no live status, so for them we show user reports, which are a signal, not a confirmed outage. See all reports on the outage map.

Internet infrastructure

Cloud, CDN and hosting providers that many websites run on. A major outage here can take many sites down at once.

Big platforms

The most used apps and websites. Several down at once points to a wider problem.

Internet providers and carriers: reports today

User reports in the last hour and the last 24 hours. Providers with 10 or more reports in the last hour are flagged.

Internet outage questions

Is there a major internet outage today?

The verdict at the top of this page answers that live. It combines the official status of the big internet infrastructure providers (Cloudflare, AWS and others), our own checks of the largest platforms every few minutes, and user reports for every internet provider and mobile carrier we track. We only call an outage widespread when several of those signals agree.

Is there a nationwide internet outage right now?

A true nationwide outage, where the internet stops working across a whole country, is very rare. What people usually notice is one large provider having an outage (Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile, for example) or a cloud provider failure that takes many websites down at once. If a single internet provider has a burst of reports, its page on this site shows where they come from.

Is there a global internet outage?

The internet as a whole very rarely goes down. Global outages are almost always one company everyone depends on: a content delivery network, a cloud provider or a DNS service. When that happens many unrelated sites fail with the same kind of error at the same time. The infrastructure list on this page shows those providers first.

Why is my internet down when this page shows no outage?

Most outages are local: one neighbourhood, one cable node, or your own modem and router. Restart your modem and router, check whether other devices are affected, and look at your internet provider's page here for reports from your area. Your provider's app or account page usually shows outages at your own address.

How can I tell if the outage is just me?

Try a site on a different network: switch your phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data. If everything works on mobile data, the problem is your home internet. If one website fails on every network while others work, that website is down. Our Wi-Fi test and the check box on the home page help with both.

What causes a major internet outage?

The usual causes are a failure or a bad configuration change at a large cloud, CDN or DNS provider, a routing (BGP) mistake that sends traffic the wrong way, damage to fibre cables, a power failure at a data centre, or a large internet provider's own network fault. Weather can cause wide regional outages too.

Is Cloudflare or AWS down right now?

The infrastructure list on this page shows their live state from their official status pages. A problem there often explains why many unrelated websites show errors at the same moment. Each one has its own page with the full status, history and reports.

Which internet providers have outages today?

The lists below show every internet provider and carrier we track, with user reports in the last hour and the last 24 hours. Providers with a burst of reports are flagged. That is a strong sign of a problem in some area, but not proof of an outage until the provider confirms it.

How do you decide the verdict?

It says "widespread" only when several independent signals agree: an infrastructure provider reporting a major outage together with several platforms down or several providers with bursts of reports, or four or more platforms down or four or more providers with 10 or more reports in the last hour at the same time. A single infrastructure provider with a major outage on its official status page is named at the top, and smaller problems are listed by name, without calling either a nationwide or global outage.

How do I report an internet outage?

Open your internet provider or carrier's page and tap the problem you have, like no internet or slow internet. Reports are anonymous and appear on that provider's outage map and on the live outage map within a minute or two. To get it fixed, also report it to your provider.
