For privacy a city is listed only once 5 or more people there have reported in 24 hours.

Map of user reports in the last 24 hours, not Plusnet's official outage map. Each report is one visitor to this site saying something is not working, placed by the approximate location of their connection. A region in the list means people there reported problems, not that an outage is confirmed.

We do not link to an official Plusnet outage map yet. Most providers show outages at your own address in their app or account once you sign in.

What to do if Plusnet is not working

  1. Unplug your modem and router, wait 30 seconds, plug the modem in first, then the router after 2 minutes.
  2. Check the lights on the modem: a red or blinking "online" or internet light usually means no connection from the provider.
  3. Connect a computer directly to the router with a cable to rule out a Wi-Fi problem.
  4. Sign in to your Plusnet account or app: providers show outages in your area there, often with an estimated fix time.
  5. Check cables and splitters, especially after storms or building work.
  6. If neighbours have no internet either, it is an outage in your area. Note the time it started: under Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme, providers that signed up pay you for each day a broadband fault goes unfixed after two full working days.

Plusnet outage questions

Is Plusnet down in my area?

This page shows reports from Plusnet customers in the last 24 hours, with the regions they come from. For outages at your exact address, sign in to your Plusnet account or app, which shows known outages in your area.

What network does Plusnet use?

Plusnet uses BT's network (Plusnet is part of BT). When that network has an outage, Plusnet customers are usually affected too, so check its page as well.

Why is my Plusnet internet not working?

The usual causes are an outage in your area, a modem or router that needs restarting, a loose or damaged cable, or an unpaid bill. Restart the modem first; if the online light stays off and neighbours are affected, it is an outage.

Can I get a credit for a Plusnet outage?

If Plusnet is part of Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme, you are paid for each day a broadband fault goes unfixed after two full working days. Otherwise, note when the outage started and ended and ask Plusnet support for a credit afterwards.
