Map of user reports in the last 24 hours, not TalkTalk's official outage map. Each report is one visitor to this site saying something is not working, placed by the approximate location of their connection. A region in the list means people there reported problems, not that an outage is confirmed.

- Unplug your modem and router, wait 30 seconds, plug the modem in first, then the router after 2 minutes.
- Check the lights on the modem: a red or blinking "online" or internet light usually means no connection from the provider.
- Connect a computer directly to the router with a cable to rule out a Wi-Fi problem.
- Check TalkTalk's official outage page (linked on this page) or sign in to your TalkTalk account or app: providers show outages in your area there, often with an estimated fix time.
- Check cables and splitters, especially after storms or building work.
- If neighbours have no internet either, it is an outage in your area. Note the time it started: under Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme, providers that signed up pay you for each day a broadband fault goes unfixed after two full working days.
TalkTalk outage questions
Is TalkTalk down in my area?
This page shows reports from TalkTalk customers in the last 24 hours, with the regions they come from. For outages at your exact address, use TalkTalk's official outage checker at https://support.talktalk.co.uk/.
Why is my TalkTalk internet not working?
The usual causes are an outage in your area, a modem or router that needs restarting, a loose or damaged cable, or an unpaid bill. Restart the modem first; if the online light stays off and neighbours are affected, it is an outage.
Can I get a credit for a TalkTalk outage?
If TalkTalk is part of Ofcom's automatic compensation scheme, you are paid for each day a broadband fault goes unfixed after two full working days. Otherwise, note when the outage started and ended and ask TalkTalk support for a credit afterwards.
