Privacy
We keep as little as possible.
- Reports. When you report a problem we store the service, the time, the problem type and your approximate country, region and city (from your connection, never your exact location). The outage maps show a city only once at least 5 people there have reported in 24 hours. To stop repeat reports we also store a short one-way code made from your connection address, the date and the service. It cannot be turned back into your address and changes every day. Reports older than 30 days are deleted.
- Website checks. When you check a site we store nothing about you; the result is cached for a minute so repeat checks are fast.
- DNS, domain and QR code checks. Domain and DNS lookups are cached for a few minutes and not linked to you. A QR code image is read by your own browser and never uploaded; only a web link inside it is sent to our server, which opens it once to follow its redirects (the code's owner may count that as a scan). The result is cached for 5 minutes. Wi-Fi passwords, contact cards and other code contents stay on your device.
- No accounts and no tracking cookies are set by this site.
If we add advertising in the future, this page will be updated to describe it before it goes live.
