- Turn Airplane mode on for 15 seconds, then off again. This forces your phone to reconnect to the network.
- Restart your phone. If it shows "SOS only" or "No service" afterwards, the problem is probably the network, not your phone.
- Check that mobile data and data roaming are on, and that your plan is paid up.
- Turn on Wi-Fi calling if you have Wi-Fi: you can call and text over Wi-Fi while the mobile network is down.
- Reset network settings (iPhone: Settings > General > Transfer or Reset > Reset Network Settings; Android: Settings > System > Reset options). This clears saved Wi-Fi passwords.
- Take out the SIM and put it back, or for an eSIM, check it is still active in your settings. Then enter your postcode on Vodafone UK's official outage page (linked on this page): if it lists a problem near you, or others near you on Vodafone UK have no signal too, it is an outage and you can only wait.
