- Check the lights on the modem: a red or blinking "online" or internet light usually means no connection from the provider.
- Connect a computer directly to the router with a cable to rule out a Wi-Fi problem.
- Check Optimum's official outage page (linked on this page) or sign in to your Optimum account or app: providers show outages in your area there, often with an estimated fix time.
- Check cables and splitters, especially after storms or building work.
- If neighbours have no internet either, it is an outage in your area. Note the time it started: many providers give a credit for long outages if you ask.
