Step by step

  1. Check it is not just you. Our live Airtel page shows reports from other Airtel customers in India in the last 24 hours, and the outage map shows where they are.
  2. Report it to Airtel:
  3. Write down when the outage started and when service came back. You need the times if you ask Airtel for a credit.
  4. Report it on our Airtel page too, so people near you can see it is not just them.

Can I get a credit for an Airtel outage?

Under TRAI's 2024 Quality of Service regulations, if mobile service is unavailable across a district for more than 24 hours, postpaid subscribers registered in that district must get a proportional rent rebate in the next bill and prepaid subscribers must get their plan validity extended by the same number of days. An outage of more than 12 hours in a calendar day counts as one full day, recorded force majeure events can be excluded, and the adjustment is due within one week of restoration. For wireline broadband and landline, a similar rebate or validity extension applies when a fault is not repaired within 3 working days. Regulator source

When will it be fixed?

Only Airtel knows. If Airtel lists the problem on its official support pages or app, that is where an estimated fix time appears. We cannot see Airtel's network: our live page shows whether reports from other customers are still coming in, and a drop in reports usually means service is coming back.

Tell others it is not just them

A report on our page does not reach Airtel, but it shows other Airtel customers nearby what is happening. Reports are anonymous.

How can I call or text during an Airtel outage?
