- A 401 or 403 error usually means the API key is wrong, revoked or out of credit: check the key and your billing page.
- Check the model name: retired or renamed models return errors that look like an outage.
- Keep a fallback: route to another provider or model while AI/ML API is down (see the alternatives below), or use a router that switches automatically.
